• It is absolutely important that your walls are clean without dirt, dust, or grease spots as they can ruin the smooth finish of the paint. You can clean the walls using water and a dishwashing detergent of mild nature along with a sponge. In the end, rinse and remove the excess soap residue.
• Use painter’s blue tape which you can even apply one week before. Immediately after the painting is done, you can remove it. But, make sure that the paint dries off and you don’t peel off the paint along.
• Many believe that walls that were painted before do not need priming. It is quite wrong as using a primer helps in maximising the sheen along with the paint coverage giving the coat a more uniform appearance. But, before purchasing it make sure that your cement primer manufacturer is a reputed one. You wouldn’t want to compromise with the quality here.
• Use a two-inch angled brush on those spots where the roller will be unable to reach. You can extend about three inches from the mouldings, doors, and windows.
• For greater result, you can start rolling on a three-by-three-foot pattern that looks

like a W. Start from the corner and fill in everything without lifting your roller.

• When you wall dries out, tape the areas where the walls and the trim meet. You can paint your mouldings, doors, and windows using a two-inch angled brush.

It may seem a little confusing in the beginning. But, you will surely get a hang of it with a little practice.
