What is wally putty and when is it used?

Wall putty is the material which is used for covering the holes and cracks and making the surface of the wall smoother. It is mainly used in the interior walls of the house. After a coat of wall putty has been applied, the plaster of paris mixture is applied to further smoothen the surface and it is on this that paint can be applied.
